Magos Grievv and the Exploratory Choir.

Here’s the last Magos done, and a picture of the six adepts i made so far. I thought that, since i have some sceneries just waiting for dust around me, i could use them to take moody pictures of the miniatures in situ..

And in another way. i’m really enthusiast about the Dark Age of Sigmar movement initiated by Bruticus! I love seeing all the new things around the web, and i’ll try to make some things in that way, expanding the things i did for Warhammer Quest!..

Take care of you!

Rad Scavengers and two other.

Hi there!
Here are some work in progress thing.

The first two are an inspiration from the brilliant Unity short movie and some other things. I imagined them walking silently in the toxic wasteland surrounding the Ib-26 Hive-City, being slowly attracted by the huge amount of weird radiation coming out of it. There may be smaller recruits in an incertain futur, as these guys are quite big. But i like to think of them alone in the scenery.. I draw a first version of them some times ago on my instagram account. I sometime post here some ideas i have about miniatures, if that could be interesting for some of you =)

The next one is a Magos that came out of the recent acquisitions i made at the Warhammer World, and i played with obvious bits i had from the Magos Dominos. I imagine him moving and coughing like General Grievous in Star Wars, a splendid character !

Griev1 Griev2 Griev3 Griev4 Griev5

And i did this one in 2 minutes last night, as i just worked on 3 big figures. I like to remind myself what i could look like if i were surrounded by this kind of monstrous abhuman monsters.. I think i’ll make more of this classic acolytes in drapes we can see in some illustrations, waving banners or purity seals.. Nothing fancy for now, but thinking about it!

Have a great weekend!

Civilians, dwarves and hired guns.

Hi!

I recently had a painting madness and finished some old things that were waiting on my desk.

Civil2.1 Civil2.2 Civil2.3 Civil3.1 Civil3.2 Civil3.3 Civil3.4

Dwarves1.1 Dwarves1.2 Dwarves1.3

I also think i finally could motivate a friend to try the narrative ways of InqMunda. We worked together on his first retinues, and if he’s ok with that, i will show them here one they’re done. And i worked on my own gang to experiment the game with him. I went for some kind of mercenaries, hired by a rogue trader to find something in the ruins of the hive-city. I wanted to be able to identify myself with the characters, something i cannot really do with servitors or Mechanicum Magii. Everything was rather quickly done, so i don’t have any WIP pictures for them.

The first will be the leader of the gang. An experienced hired gun that doesn’t want to be here, but doesn’t have the choice. I wanted him to be a little bit fearful, so i gave him things to see in the dark and to breath in corrosive conditions. i’ll have to write something about them also, one day 😉

Lantern01 Lantern2 Lantern3 Lantern4 Lantern5

The second is a more bold one that doesn’t fear close combat.

Blue1 Blue2 Blue3 Blue4 Blue5

And the third is the greedy one. He’s here for the money, and will do the job if it’s worth enough.

Greed1 Greed2 Greed3 Greed4 Greed5

That’s it for now! I’m currently thinking of the next gaming board i’ll work on, and i’ll try to have some updates here with WIP stages..

Have a great weekend!

Little boxes and small trip.

This is a small update for two little boxes i made to move my minis form some place to another in a cool way. I saw things like this around the internet, and always thought that it was a brilliant idea – if i find some links back, i’ll update the post. And in the same movement, i’ll use this boxes this weekend for a trip to the Warhammer World i was thinking about for a long time. The Pilgrym exhibition there is a perfect excuse, if i needed any! Maybe i’ll have the opportunity to meet some of you there? Let me know if that would be the case!

For now, here are the boxes in some Wip stages and with the miniatures in them. There should soon be an update on the Many Faces of the Vox Populii thing i guess..

Silver Tower: Heroes and WIP

Hi there!

Here’s the rest of the cast of the Silver Tower, and some more things.

I kept the heroes mainly as they were, with a few minor tweaks with the Dwarf’s torch, and the Dark Elf chest plate. Only the Warpriest isn’t here in his original incarnation. I think the mini is too heroic for a mere human. Even if the setting isn’t the same as the Old World, i can’t imagine a human in Warhammer being sane and healthy. So i made one from scratch. I also like that he’s a lot smaller than all the other heroes. It make their huge size more obvious!

Baraelf Dwaelf Eterpriest

And this are some more character i wanted to make. The necromancer is a favorite of mine since i spent a lot of time in front of Diablo 2 when i was younger, so i had to make one. The Wight King was an obvious companion for him!

Necro1 Necro2 Necro3 Necro4King1 King2 King3 King4

The Chaos Lord was a thing i wanted to make for some time also. I always loved Archaon’s story and miniatures. The last one is gorgeous, but i think he kind of disappear behind the huge three headed monster. So i did my own Archaon-like Lord. The base mini is really awesome, and is a pleasure to built. It was also the first attempt to change a miniature more with greenstuff than with kit bashing.

Chaos1 Chaos2 Chaos3

The Beastman is another favorite of mine, inspired by the illustration of Morghur in the old army book. Here again, i find his story fascinating, but didn’t really liked the miniature. I saw on the internet some doing their own version of him, so i tried the same. I think i never spent so much time sculpting things than on this one, and i rather enjoyed it, even if it’s a long process!

Morghur1 Morghur2 Morghur3 Morghur4

And lastly is a Skaven Greyseer from a long time ago, when we wanted to play standard Warhammer battles. We didn’t went as far in than with 40k, but i’m still hoping to convince some friends to try Age of Sigmar!

Thank you for passing by! Take care!

Silver Tower : Foes

Hello!

Once again some time i didn’t show anything here. I’ve been active, but not in a really public way, and i tried to come back on my sculpture things you can see somewhere on my website.

So recently the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower was released, and i thought that it might be the kind of game i could like. We tried a first adventure, and finally, i guess it is a game i’ve been waiting for a long time! I don’t have a lot of experience in board games or miniature games even, but the cooperative adventures of the Silver Tower really fit my non-competitive habit. I really hope there will be more adventures, with undead, other Chaos gods and more gorgeous miniatures!

The only thing that makes me sad is that there is – obviously – no Mechanicum themes, and that it doesn’t encourage any scenery madness! But it got me thinking about my ‘perfect’ game, with the right amount of liberty and simplicity and cooperation. Sometimes maybe..

So for now, here are the foes of the Silver Tower. I painted them quite quickly and roughly, and did minor tweaks in order to avoid two similar models. Nothing fancy, but i’ll show some more interesting things, hopefully.

I have to point some blogs that i think did a really good job at making the tower’s inhabitants positively scary: Big Boss Red Skull’s and WilhelMiniatures’. If you’re looking for inspiration, go there! And the rest of their blog is just as brilliant.

Thank you for the visit!

Civilians and dwarves.

Here are some other ones i’ve been thinking about for some time.

I wanted to make these little dwarves for some time, as i really liked the illustrations in one of the 40k rulebook – i never remember which book is which edition – and i think they really participate of the atmosphere. Hiding in the background, marking skulls or being just weird. So here are 5 of them.

Dwarves1.1 Dwarves1.2 Dwarves1.3 Dwarves1.4

And these are more common citizens of the hive city. I tried to make them a little weird also. I don’t think anyone truly sane could survive in such a universe.. The hard thing with these guys, as for the dwarves, was to use arms without any weapon. Most of the arms i have in my bit box used to hold weapon, so i have to make them hold something, interesting, credible but not too important.. That’s why i love the ghouls arms. Just open hands. So great!

Civils1.1 Civils1.2 Civils1.3 Civils1.4 Civils1.5 Civils1.6

Hope you like them. Have a good evening!

Magos Phineus and playing with .gifs

Hello!

Here’s the Magos Phineus, leader of my Mechanicum warband.

After the Shiver, Phineus was asked by Archmagos Holastas to search the wasted foundations of Ib-26 in order to find what happened, what were the reasons of the cataclysm. He as been leading a choir of specialist into the drowned city for centuries now, looking for evidences.

I have to work the background a little more, but it will be linked with the story of the city.. So nothing more until i finally get things done in this area!.. But i’m happy to see this mini painted. It was the first try to make a mechanics character, and it evolved a lot since then, more than two years ago!

I put here little gifs i tried to make of the different sceneries of the city. I have to learn things in this area as well, so it’s absolutely an amateur work!.. (After seeing this, i realize one building is missing.. )

Ib-26.3 Ib-26.2 Ib-26.1

Have a nice week!

Reliquae

Hi here!

Here’s the Reliquae finished. Nothing too complicated, i have some difficulties trying something new with the colors, as i fear making things too shiny..

The Reliquae was a holy propaganda engine used by the government of Ib-26 before the catastrophe known as the Shiver. After the fled of the authorities, the walker was hijacked by the inhabitant into diffusing their own propaganda. With the time, the lack of maintenance and the recent strange events, the engine fell in madness, walking randomly in the alleys screaming senseless diatribes.

Now, the appearance of the Reliquae is a sign of change, good or bad, for the neighborhood. Trying to bring the favors of the forgotten holy man stuck into the machinery on themselves, the civilians run next to the screaming mass of metal to hang prayers parchment on it, at the risk of falling under its stomping feet.
