Lots of news!

Finally!

I’ve been away from here, without any real reason for that. A bit overwhelmed i guess. But i have a lot to show and talk about!

The first thing is probably old news now, but there is a fanzine coming that will focus on the Blanchitsu side of the hobby, and i’m flattered to have a few things of mine inside! It’s called 28, and will be available for free online on the website, and there is a Facebook page and an Instagram. (Front artwork by the amazing Pascal Blanché)

The next sentence might be funny. I mentioned the next thing in another thing i forgot to mention here.. You’re still with me? So the brilliant Greenstuff Gretchin sculpted a fantastic miniature based of a drawing of mine from last year (thank you again so much!)

And i mentioned it in an interview for a miniature painting blog, Chestnut Ink , where i ramble about miniatures and stuff! They have a lot of tutorial and an amazing level in painting!..

This summer, mr Dark_Tech_ suggested a miniature challenge between both of us, on the theme of the wasteland merchant. I obviously needed to make a box for them, and tried something different by making it horizontal. It started being a bad idea when i made the stairs, as when the box is closed, the stairs enter the box, and take the space the mini would need.. So i’m still learning!.. Here are the Wips and the things done. I’m glad on how they turned out, a bit more colourful than what i’m used to, and i didn’t realized i missed painting miniatures that much. It has been a while!

Then, i finished two miniature to go along with my ever Expanding Exploratorii choir. The one with the metal techpriest was one of the first miniature i started with the knowledge of inq28. I just modified it a bit more with cables and electro-priests stuff.

And i had to make a group picture in situ! (well three pictures)

In another realm, i’ve been kindly invited to the Mordheim 2019 event in Helsinki, so there is going to be a few weird things around i hope! Thank you for bringing me on board!

Last but not least, i just went to my usual miniature shop today, to grab the new White Dwarf, and a few miniatures of mine are featured in my favourite article! Thanks a lot to the White Dwarf team and to Mr Blanche for making this dream real! (I sound calm here but i was shaking and smiling a lot today!)

Hopefully the next update will arrive a bit sooner than next year! During that time, if you come to visit the small Swiss village of Gruyère (and you should because the fantastic H.R.Giger’s musuem is there) make a small 200m detour and check my sculpture exhibition starting the 28th September! And if you’re in Yverdon for the Unidé miniature convention on the 20th October, come say hello! I’ll be there with some miniatures and scenery! (But i’m terribly shy so sorry for that..)

Wish you all many beautiful things!

A few squads and a new board.

Hi there!

It has been some time again since my last entry here, but i stayed productive in some way. I already showed a few things in the Facebook group pages, and here’s the rest of it..

First of all, nearly two years after the wasted foundations of Ib-26, a new board!

It’s really less ambitious than the hive-city, as i didn’t want to spend as much time on it, and wanted to be able to store it in my small flat. But i still wanted to to look cool, so i spent more time on small details here and there! I’ll show a few WIP soon!

It’s intended to play skirmish on it, maybe small games of Aos, but not sure there would be enough space. And to try this, here’s the Sylvaneth warband still waiting for a name and a story.

With the new edition of 40k, we had to try the new rules. Most of my « gaming » armies are stored in boxes now, so i assembled a few squads for the mechanicus. I tried to keep the spirit of the warband without getting as much in the details for each character. I’m in love with the Vostrayan, that were before the Skitarii and the recent madness from GW, the most 40k miniatures ever in my opinion!

I enjoyed the game, but the total mayhem of a squad versus another isn’t really my thing. Hopefully i’ll convince my friend to have a go at the new Necromunda!

Finally, this october, i joined the Inktober challenge with some 40k inspired drawings, i’ll see if i can show a gallery of them somewhere around here. You can see a lot of my drawings on my Instagram account of my Facebook page, if you fancy!

Thanks a lot for passing by!

A warband and two boxes

Hi here!

It’s been a while since the last update but here are the last things i’ve been working on.

Firstly, a sylvaneth warband to try the Aos Skirmish. We still have to try our first game of Aos, but i hope this will be a nice entry ticket. I have the rest of the battalion to work on later.. I’m a bit late after all the branchitsu madness around aos28, but here they are. I’ll make more individual photos once they are painted. I found a bit hard to be original with this few. So many brilliant things have been already done. And i’m still asking myself a bit about the sylvaneth civilisation, their level of technology and individualism. There’s not a lot about this in the army book, i hope there will be a bit more in the future!

Next is a thing i thought a lot about considering i don’t play that much anymore, but enjoy building things. Following the travel boxes i made earlier this year, i made a more detailed one, maybe more like a piece of scenery or a diorama of the inside of an imperial building. The floor is magnetic again, so it can be used to move a few miniatures around, and there is a button behind the box to turn a little light on. So it’s a kind of decorative thing i guess?

This is the second one i made just after the wooden box. I tried something smaller, and thought about it as the relic boxes the miniatures often carry around. So it’s a box, with a cyborg corpse reliquary inside.

And since i really enjoyed doing those, i think i’m going to make a few more!

And finally, Bigbossredskulls recently published a blog post with a few of my drawing inspired by his tzeenchian warbands! This hobby exchange saw this fantastic miniature take a place in my Warhammer gallery on the wall! Thank you! (Be sure to check his blog, his work is crazy creative!)

Magos Grievv and the Exploratory Choir.

Here’s the last Magos done, and a picture of the six adepts i made so far. I thought that, since i have some sceneries just waiting for dust around me, i could use them to take moody pictures of the miniatures in situ..

And in another way. i’m really enthusiast about the Dark Age of Sigmar movement initiated by Bruticus! I love seeing all the new things around the web, and i’ll try to make some things in that way, expanding the things i did for Warhammer Quest!..

Take care of you!

Rad Scavengers and two other.

Hi there!
Here are some work in progress thing.

The first two are an inspiration from the brilliant Unity short movie and some other things. I imagined them walking silently in the toxic wasteland surrounding the Ib-26 Hive-City, being slowly attracted by the huge amount of weird radiation coming out of it. There may be smaller recruits in an incertain futur, as these guys are quite big. But i like to think of them alone in the scenery.. I draw a first version of them some times ago on my instagram account. I sometime post here some ideas i have about miniatures, if that could be interesting for some of you =)

The next one is a Magos that came out of the recent acquisitions i made at the Warhammer World, and i played with obvious bits i had from the Magos Dominos. I imagine him moving and coughing like General Grievous in Star Wars, a splendid character !

Griev1 Griev2 Griev3 Griev4 Griev5

And i did this one in 2 minutes last night, as i just worked on 3 big figures. I like to remind myself what i could look like if i were surrounded by this kind of monstrous abhuman monsters.. I think i’ll make more of this classic acolytes in drapes we can see in some illustrations, waving banners or purity seals.. Nothing fancy for now, but thinking about it!

Have a great weekend!

Magos Phineus and playing with .gifs

Hello!

Here’s the Magos Phineus, leader of my Mechanicum warband.

After the Shiver, Phineus was asked by Archmagos Holastas to search the wasted foundations of Ib-26 in order to find what happened, what were the reasons of the cataclysm. He as been leading a choir of specialist into the drowned city for centuries now, looking for evidences.

I have to work the background a little more, but it will be linked with the story of the city.. So nothing more until i finally get things done in this area!.. But i’m happy to see this mini painted. It was the first try to make a mechanics character, and it evolved a lot since then, more than two years ago!

I put here little gifs i tried to make of the different sceneries of the city. I have to learn things in this area as well, so it’s absolutely an amateur work!.. (After seeing this, i realize one building is missing.. )

Have a nice week!

Some doodles.

Another thing that i’ve been thinking for a while, is gathering all the doodles and illustrations touching the 40k universe i have done. I’ve been around it for some time now, and studying the rule books and their illustrations is an important memory, as it’s a big part of my will to learn drawing and becoming an illustrator.

This late title is still something i work on and ask myself a lot about – but for now, here are some of this drawings and more are on the gallery. So there’s some Mechanicum, Servo-skulls,  imperial civilians of the Many Faces of the Vox Populii, and some researches for the biggest element of my hive-city board.

Explorator warband exploring

Nothing new – except a lot of really nice words from the very people that have been inspiring me and feeding my obsessions. That’s just amazing, justifies the time i spent on the making, and simply brings a lot of smiles! Thank you all!

While it’s just the same pieces than below, here are some photos of a different configuration of buildings with my mechanicus warband crawling on it. Hope we’ll have a game soon!

Magos Bishop
